drus measuring instruments

This project presents a series of four measuring instruments utilised by dendrologists: the Finnish compass, the ruler, the set square and the circumference plate.
All materials are made of wood, with digital impressions designed to mark graduations of each ring.
Matter is reduced to its most essential form, and only starts making sense when using the object.
Respect for the tree is a value that is at the heart of dendrology as well as today’s environmental issues.

Another beautiful nature inspired work by studio note – a frozen garden of wild flowers, carefully picked from meadows, delicately handled, and preserved in plexiglass.
