The design of these tables is based on a simple combination of a wood top with two wooden legs and a third metal leg that can be used also as a handle. The long, thin legs that look somewhat like cricket polls, also create an overall insect-like look that gives these tables their unique character.

The Atlas Table, made of interlocking wooden segments, is a masterpiece to behold, both as a tactile object and a work of art. The geometric pattern was achieved by inlaying darker wooden pyramids into a latticework of oak cubes. The resulting triangle motif adds a sense of dynamism to an otherwise stationary furniture piece.

table & fence

Table and fence was based on the research of affordance and was made to create a field to gather people to around it in social activity. The fence sits around the table for people to
lean on, and it also suggests to them to share the table space with others. By reducing the room for personal using with a narrow top rail on the fence, the sharing space expands.

coal rug

image

20/30 refers to a standard calibre of coal. The idea of a rug imposed itself naturally just like a bag of nuggets strewn on the floor. This surface offers a sensorial upheaval by confronting what is commonly known and what is perceived in reality. This intriguing piece borders between design and plastic intervention with a touch of irony while raising essential questions for our future.

branchworks

branchworks/ Gael Corto Arcadio Jabali

Consumerism refers to economic policies, placing emphasis on mindless consumption rather than creation. Branchworks is a social interaction project which uses a stool to transform consumers into makers. The consumers are led through three steps, each intended to invoke curiosity and guide them to an intimate meeting with the designer. A workshop that teaches the prospecting makers two separate techniques that are simple and easy. Woodcarving and a method of connection that can be used to fix, fabricate or embellish using tree branches.

stick

stick table/ Esra Jakobsson

In our everyday life we are surrounded by products. Products that we use frequently but have stopped noticing. By playing with used christmas trees as material the Stick was born. Stick can be attached to a tabletop or a seat to serve as a leg and therefore creating the finished product. The leg is two parted, wood and steel. The composition of these materials strengthen each other as separately they wouldn’t work as legs. Stick is designed to make the user notice their ordinary everyday objects and hopefully make him smile.

blueberry table

Blueberry table / Klara Sumova

Settled Landcapes project —
Located in the north Bohemian forests, this table reflects materials hidden by its
surroundings. It is carved from sandstone, a rock found within the subsoil of the area. At the centre of the table is a room for plants, which ties the relationship of the forest to the substrate it depends on. As in the forest itself, the table acts as a plant container – porous sandstone being an ideal material for supporting flora.

Landscapes within / Wiktoria Szawiel

…so I dreamt about places, and I dreamt about landscapes, and I recalled familiar memories of sounds, views, feelings. From those little notions of a space, of light, of atmosphere, my project emerged. I aimed to capture the beauty and the spirituality of an eastern landscape within a physical object.
The collection includes chair, side table, stools and various vessels.

Dolomyth aims to capture the complex relief of the Dolomites, which is rich in forms and the result of a successful and harmonious combination of structural shapes and climatic conditions. Undergrowth / Alcarol

Mosses and lichens are very primitive organisms that grow in damp places, including rocks and trees. They form the lowest layer of forest vegetation and are equipped with chlorophyll giving them a green colour of varying degrees of intensity. alcarol recovered some logs from the undergrowth of the Italian Dolomite mountains and cut planks that preserve the natural edges with their native populations of plants, which are embedded in a resin resembling the water that generated their life.
